Why does the check engine light come on when I fill up with gas

get an OBD check? Good to do when it's on in case it goes off by itself later. Gas cap not venting properly?

You need to purchase an OBDII reader to check the code and you may need a new gas cap.

On my 2002 Bird the CHECK FUEL CAP light came on. I replaced the cap but the light still comes on. What else can I check or how do I get the light to go off? Thanks
