Turn signal issues on a 57.

Finishing up on a 5 year garage project. At first the RH side marker light would blink and the LH side stayed on real bright when I would use the turn signal. I assume the marker light body wasn't grounding properly because it was beat up so I replaced it. Now the LH side will not repond and when I turn the RH blinker on both marker lights will blink together. I'm wonder if it is the switch in the steering column?

BTW, the rear turn signals work properly,
