This has only happened a few times but yesterday on the highway, the engine would suddenly cut out for a few seconds. The electrical items are fine so I think it is a fuel issue. When it happens, it's a little like vapor lock and the engine does not die but seems to clear itself. Can be unsettling on the highway. I useally pull over, race the engine a bit and it will smooth out. The car has both an electric and mechanical fuel pumps. I only use the electric to prime the carb after it sits for a few days and then shut it off. The ignition is Pertronix which I have used before with great results and lifespan. The Pertronix was already installed when I got the car. Yesterday, when it started to cut out, I got off the highway and it seemed fine. I filled with premium (9 gallons to full) and it ran fine for the remainder of the trip. I had an issue with vacuum in the tank even with vented caps. I put a repro of an original on and no more vacuum problem. It is a bit loose in my opinion but no gas leaks out or odors.

Also, on starting after parking the car, it seems to flood. Ideas? Thanks
