Someone pulled my steering wheel too far out when adjusting the steering wheel height...How does it go back in?

If your steering shaft has pulled up out of the steering box, you will have to align the splines. There is one spline larger than the rest. If the wheels are straight, that spline will orient near 12 o'clock. Patience will be key if there's any slack or the wheels are turned.
