Seat Belt Locking

2002 Thunderbird:
The passenger side seat belt is locked in the closed (non-extended) position. You cannot release it, extend it, or unlock it. Any suggestions other than taking it to the dealer?

No idea... could kids have put something in the slot where the belt retracts? Please let us know what you find out.

No kids - just us old codgers who hardly know where to stick anything at this age!
We'll see the dealer next week and I'll post what they say/do.

investab: When the '02's came out there was a recall on seatbelts. I don't remember what it was specifically, but have the dealer check the recall list to see if your car was done. In fact he should check it for all recalls

Recall

The recall was for '02 T-Birds. If involved in an accident the driver's side seat belt was prone to tearing slightly.
