Rust Stains on Soft Top

UPDATE EMAIL ADDRESS
Drove our 02 bird all winter with the hard top in place. When we removed it in the spring, we had what appeared to be brown rust stains on the top of the fabric near the rear window. They cleaned off OK. Now, after driving with the top down for the last 2 weeks, I noticed when I raised the top the stains were there again. They clean off, but over time the top may become permanently stained. Is anyone else having this problem?
