My tech manual indicates the engine must be partly lifted on my 1961 TBird to remove the oil pan and pump. I need to replace the pump. Is this doable on jackstands in my driveway or do I need to be calling an engine shop. If lifting the engine is involved, I am afraid I would be getting in over my head. Has anyone done this? Advice?

Thanks.

Bill

Oil Pump Not Needed

Thanks anyway. Removed oil pressure switch, pulled coil wire and cranked engine. Got oil via the pressure switch hole. All is good. Thanks.
