so im trying to put a motor from a 1997 into my 1995 , what would be the differences ? i have both cars complete the motor and trans in my 1995 is bad and i have a perfect donor 1997 parts car. i think the 95 is obd1 so would i convert over to everything obd2 ? I'm in California so I'm assuming everything needs to come over complete motor , trans engine harness ,ecu , trans controller , basically everything from the obd2 car evap sai all systems for smog installed in the 95 obd1 car? is this entirely needed? can I just plug the donor motor/trans into my original engine harness ?

The '95 should be obd2. Other than possibly changing a couple of sensors it should be a plug and play. The one to check is the transmission it may have a different valve body wiring. A Hollander interchange book will tell you.
