How do I determine engine size in my newly acquired 1961 T-bird Conv?

Unless the engine has been changed it will be a 390 c.i. FE. There were only two factory engine options in the 1961, 1962 and 1963 Thunderbirds; 390 single 4bbl and 390 M code with 3 2bbl carburetors. The M code is generally found in the 1962 if at all. It was not a common option.
