New here to the forum, looking to buy a 2002-05 t-bird, is it just me or does the market seem flooded with the 2002’s ?

The retro T-Bird was launched in 2002 and the production numbers for its launch year represented almost half of the total run, 31,000 out of 68,000.

Other reason might be that they made 31,368 of the 2002 and only 37,730 of the 03-05 combined plus the 02 only had 252hp while the 03-05 had 280hp.

The didn't make enough to be "flooded". 2002 was the best selling year, BY FAR. Personally I'd look for a 2003+ because those don't have a hydraulic cooling fan, plus more horsepower and variable timing and other improvements.

A couple of reasons for this....

The 2002 model year had much higher production numbers than individual years 2003-05:

2002: 31,368
2003: 14, 678
2004: 12,757
2005: 9,295

Another reason is that the first production year of any new model is usually considered the one in which all the "bugs" get worked out, with following model years improving from Lessons Learned. Thus, 2003-05 model years have several changes and modifications over the 2002 that are considered to be improvements.
