Does anyone have a couple of good pictures of a 1957 trunk? Specifically looking for how the various jack components should be correctly stowed in the trunk. Any help appreciated!

Do you have an original style Jack stand? It's supposed to have a 'T' style shaft much like a steel fence post. Many years ago while digging through junk yards I found one from a sedan. It's square so it won't hang on the fender hook and is a little longer, but I was able to stow it beside the spare wrap the ends in shop towels and secured with bungie cords to keep it from rattling around. I'm not ready to spend over $400 for an original.

Thank you for the replies. @Ward 57 , I do have the complete original jack. @doug7740 There is not a picture of the jack components correctly installed in a car. Specifically, the jack base, the jack strap, and the crowbar. I believe all of these are supposed to be connected together with the jack and mounted on the passenger fender well. Despite searching this forum and the internet, I haven't found a clear picture showing how these are connected together and mounted as they would have been from the factory. Most pictures just show the jack and components tossed in the spare tire well with the spare, or the jack hung on the hook on the fender and the rest of the components tossed into the well with the spare.

You are lucky to have the original jack. They are expensive. You will find a little tab on the floor of the trunk behind the filler tube, the jack stand fits over that tab facing towards the rear. The bottom of the post then fits into the base with the load hook up and the actuator down. the hold down strap hooks through the tab and over the load hook. Then actuate the jack up to tighten the strap. The hook and wrench is then stuffed into the spare wheel well. Look at the posting from @paul5456 he posted yesterday, it should make sense. The strap is available from CASCO # 17083 $15.70 and the instruction sheet that goes on the inside of the trunk lid also from CASCO #JD2 $1.75.

Thank you, Ward. That is very helpful! I think I got it in correctly.

An apology to all, especially Paul. I just realized he posted the decal from the trunk lid, and I totally missed his post. Thanks for that, Paul - I appreciate the help!

I just ordered a proper '57 jack unrestored from Amos Minter. I want to be able to store it properly instead of the jack I have from a Ford car instead of a T-bird jack.
