I am replacing my door panels on my 66 landau coupe. There is a tattered paper moisture barrier glued onto the interior door structure. Does anyone have a source for this material or an alternative you have used when putting everything back in place?

6 ml polyethylene vapor barrier attached with butyl tape works very well.

In later models of all models, Ford used a polyethylene film, probably about 6 mil in thickness. It was glued in place with what acted like windshield bedding cord, only smaller. I would definitely go with Visqueen as a quality substitute. While you never see it, once installed, it is definitely a worthwhile upgrade at a very small cost. If you don't want to go with the sticky black cord, you might consider using aluminum foil duct tape. It will stay indefinitely.
