For sale is an all original 1965 Special Edition with 73,000 miles. Car has been judged by Antique Automobile Club of America as HPOF (Historic Preservation of Original Features). It is in excellent shape. No rust, no bond, no accident repairs. Chrome is like new. Interior is near perfect as is the vinyl top. Everything except AC (needs R12 recharge) and cruise control work. Lot of history and maintenance documentation included. This is a must see to appreciate example. Located in Connecticut. Asking only $16,000!

Everything except AC (needs R12 recharge)
AC systems are closed and do not need "recharged". This means there is an underlying problem causing a leak which can be as simple as an o-Ring or as serious as a leaking compressor or Evaporator which are both costly repairs.

?The compressor runs but because I do not know if there is enough gas, I have left it alone.

Doesn't matter. If the compressor is leaking it would need replaced. If this was as simple as recharging the system, you and everyone else selling a used car of any age would have already done this. As noted, you have a leak somewhere could be simple could be costly.
