Cylindrical object mounted under the alternator regulator (looks like a capacitor)? 1965 hardtop

Does anyone know what this is? Mine snapped off yesterday chasing some wiring, it was receiving a constant 12v. Found it n the schematic but can't seem to find a replacement or even a name.

It is a capacitor that supposedly helped with radio interference. There's a couple NOS on Ebay. Probably find one at the Thunderbird dealers as well.

Gotcha thanks. I read a few articles saying that was supposed to be behind the dash, not under the hood, so I was on the wrong track. Thanks!
 
Many of those era cars had multiple radio noise suppression capacitors on radio equipped cars.
Corvettes had 6 or 8.
