Coolant sensor, how many ohms cold?

I replaced coolant temp sensor, but temp still reads full hot. When I disconnect sensor, gauge goes to cold. My sensor reads 260 ohms at 78 degrees. Shouldn't it be around 2700 ohms at that temp? What is the correct part number I need, correct ohm reading for my coolant temp sensor. Thanks Kevin
