94-97 Interior

Anyone with a 94 -97 thunderbird or cougar should be able to help me with this.

All of the cars at the wrecking yard I've seen have smooth power insert surrounds in the drivers door panel and the passenger panel has a textured panel (referring the the insert that comes out of the door panel where the power switches are at). Is this the case for every car or are these replacements? Maybe a recall?

Most of the driver sides inserts were black and didn't match the interior color while the passenger was textured and matched the rest of the interior.

Driver's Door switch panel blends into the black dash instrument cluster panel while the passenger side matches the interior color. Supposed to be that way
