89 Power steering pump

I bought my 89 SC in April. About three weeks ago out driving and the power steering pump came loose and the belt shredded. Is this a common problem or shoddy work by a previous mechanic?

I haven't been on for a bit it could be and couldn't but no that is not a normal problem with the SC's at all you might wanna check all of the bolts no need for locktite it's a real bitch to deal with those if you ever need to take it off again hate doing those
