89 lx alt not charging

UPDATE EMAIL ADDRESS
I'm trying to bring a 89 lx back to life. I have had the alt tested shows good, replaced bat cables, alt pig tail, and ignition switch. Still no charge. Digital dash is not working, will the amp gauge not working keep alt from charging? Electrical is not my strong suit so I'm figuring it out as I go. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've owned 2 Lincoln mark 7's over the years, on them if the battery light on the dash is blown out, or missing, the vehicle won't charge. You might want to check that. Do you have a separate voltage regulator. If so you can easily replace it to see if that's causing the no charge problem. Their is a procedure on line to test regulator vs alternator problem. Also check all connections going to alternator and regulator for connection, power, and grounds. Also be sure your battery is sound, cables are clean and tight. Let us know what you find.
