I need a 90 amp alternator for an '86 Turbo Coupe. The original burned out after six years and I cannot find an off-the-shelf replacement.

The best Ford can do is 55 amps, which is not enough for all the OEM accessories. The original put out 90 amps but there seems no replacement available without a custom job.

Any help is much appreciated. I live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and no one I've talked to here can help me with an off-the-shelf unit. Unfortunately, I'm in no position, either, to offer my right arm and first born for a custom job.

Please help,
Franz Holzer

Then you shouldn't bother using Ford for the parts. Try an ac delco replacement. That's what I have, and there's never been an issue with charging, or running all of the many accessories on the '87 TC.
