'57 wiper arms

I am trying to remove the wiper motor and cannot get the right/left arms separated from the motor. Looking at the parts views, it looks like they are a friction fit and pulling them away from the motor arm should work.

Anyone ever tackle this before?

There is a retainer that holds the arm levers onto the posts on the motor. Stretch the end of the retainer and remove it from the post then slide the arm lever off the post. Looks like this:
