In the middle of converting a 55 from the 6 volt to 12 volt, negative ground system.

Having a problem trying to locate the tun signal flasher. Where can this be hidden? It sure isn't in plain view and it surely isn't in the location where the shop manual says it should be.

Any help would be welcomed.

The turn signal flasher on my Thunderbird is mounted on a bracket that is attached to the dash frame, right of the steering column and left of the wiper switch.

Thanks Doug for your response. We discovered this item:

and found out it's the signal flasher. Replaced this with an LED flasher and the signals now work.

Do you mean emergency flashing lights or the electrical relay for the signal lights. Mine doesn't have the first, but yes to the signal light relay flasher.

While were on the topic of lighting
Anyone considering adding emergency 4 way flashers to their old car?
This and 3 point seatbelts are on my agenda for safety upgrades

4 ways are fine if you want to install them but it's far more work then its worth IMHO. If you want safety you can buy a magnetic "top light" that you can sit on the package shelf and it will be far more effective than four way flashers. https://www.amazon.com/ASPL-Visibil...uction/dp/B07VX5VJCM/?tag=thunderbirdforum-20
