2005 is my power steering fluid Mercon or Mercon V?

Hi, my wife and I just bought a 2005 cashmere edition with about 16,000 miles and we are looking forward to doing most of the work on our Tbird ourselves. It is a little low on power steering fluid, and I saw where Ford issued the memo changing all Mercon to Mercon V, but you’re not supposed to mix the two. Is there a way to know if the power steering fluid was ever changed over to the Mercon V? Or recommendations on how to proceed here? Thanks in advance!
