My mechanic is telling me that my Bird can't handle an AGM-type battery. (brand new Die Hard) He is telling me the charging system will overcharge this battery and in a year destroy it.
Any thoughts?
Also, I am reading about a vapor tube? My Bird didn't seem to come with one.

I suggest you - FIND ANOTHER MECHANIC !!!! for reference - A good battery charger will have "AGM" setting which I believe is necessary because they take a much lower charge rate than a wet cell .... Your charging system in the car should be able to provide the necessary feedback to not damage your battery ..
I have used AGM's for the past 10 years on my '70 monte Carlo, '68 Satellite, and '87 GN and have had no problems ... My 2 cents ...

I am pretty sure that it is supposed to be AGM...
