It was deteriorating and I prefer to dip most of the chrome on our cars.
I used Performix 11203 Plasti Dip about 6 layers.

No, it was in a reasonably good shape and dipping smoothed out the imperfections.
It is a great solution to protect the trim since you can always remove it in minutes if needed.
