I took mine to an upholstery shop that did that kind of work on boats and such. The put it back in for me and sold me a tool that helps you take snaps loose without tearing them out

Hello;

One of the snaps on my 2004 soft boot cover just pulled out of the boot.

Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this, or do I need a new boot?

Thanks, Jim.
Snaps are easy to replace. Go to a marine store (West Marine) and get a new snap and cap, 2 pcs. Also buy a peening tool and anvil. Follow the instructions and put the new snap on. To prevent future problems, clean and lubricate all snaps. Also, most important, only remove snaps with a forked, nylon, door panel removal tool properly wedged under the snap and payed up. Got it?

Before you attach the new snap, sew up the hole a bit where the new snap goes, to add strength and to prevent the new snap from pulling through again when removing the boot in future.
