Hi, I'm a (very) new owner of a 2004 Thunderbird. I have a small issue with the select shift - when I downshift it, it properly "springs" back into the center neutral position. But when I try to upshift - it doesn't spring back to center afterwards, it "floats" between the forward bump point and the center position.

Is there some sort of spring that is supposed to center these that has maybe broken or gone bad?

When it doesn't spring back to center, I don't think the switch is sensing that it's no longer being held forward. Makes for very intermittent upshifting unless I manually pull the stick back to center before pushing it forward again.

Thanks in advance for the advice!
Scott
