Hi Everyone,
Some time back, a lot of disussion passed back and forth regarding problems with retro-bird CD changers. I didn't pay much attention then because my CD player worked just fine. Well, I now have a problem with my 2003 and hope one of you can assist me with it.
When I push the 'load' button, a message says all slots are full. However, when I push 'eject' and then then am asked which slot, no matter which slot I choose, I get an instant 'CD Error' message and nothing happens.
I read a post on the forum stating that homemade CD's are sometimes the problem. Since I had loaded homemade CD's (with paper labels), I figured that was the culprit in my case. The subsequent solution was to manually lift the CD door and use a credit card or another CD to lift the edge of the 'stuck' CD and it would eject.
Well, I tried that without success. In fact, when I lift the door, I don't see another CD inside. I'm hoping for a suggestion for next step in solving my finicky CD problem.
Thanks,
Michael

Stuck CD

I had a similar problem early on and was able to take it to the dealer as a warranty repair. They sent the radio to the local repair shop, who can take it apart and rescue the CDs, etc. If you can find a local shop that can repair the radio, it isn't too hard to take out.

Mike:
Here's some info I found, try this:
"When my CD player malfunctioned like yours, I did an "All Eject". I don't have my manual with me right now, but that's where you'll find how to do it. Just unload them all, and fill them up again."

"The way to "eject all" is to push the EJ button and hold it down for a few seconds until the radio indicates "ejecting all" and it starts ejecting. "

So, give it a try and post the results, for others to benefit

Hi,

I have a 02 that has the same issue. What I have found is the CD has just started to eject and gets stuck. I have a pair of slim needle nose pliers that I carefully reach in and pull the CD out. That fixes my “CD Error” problem. You then can reload the CD.
