FOR SALE - Don’t let your cap-vented battery blow up like mine, use one of these cap-vent battery covers. Not my idea, but when I reached out to the originator, I got no reply. So, a friend and I did the CAD and 3D printing. This cap allows the safe use of a cap-vented group 65 battery with the Tbird’s existing vent tube. It’s threaded to accept a $3 quarter-inch nylon hose barb available at Ace, Lowe’s or Home Depot. Attach to your battery using silicon (preferred) or double-sided tape. Easily removed to be used again and again. Locally, a 36-month cap-vented battery costs $80 less than a 36-month battery with a vent port required for the vent tube, so the cover pays for itself on the first use.
