After having the wind blow the trunk lid closed while I was trying to load groceries in there, I decided a new set of gas springs was needed. I ordered these from Ebay.
They were easy to install, excellent quality and fit perfectly as replacements. I don't think it took but 5 minutes to do both sides.

I knew that owning a 20 year old car was going to require a bit of work. This was really easy and the cost is less than $20 for both gas springs.

Hi LC, It looks like your Bird is from the same flock as mine. 2005 Bronze, but mine has a white top.
I'm glad yours also worked well for you. It was one of those things that the instructions showed to be more complicated than the reality of doing it!
