the winch was Harbor Freight. I spent many hours trying to create a harness for the top and gave up and was able to get one from a supplier who sells a complete package. I don't remember who that was but he did sell it to me without his winch etc and probable did OK for himself. His design was very simple and effective but it was not homemade, I am glad I got it.

I have had mine for over a year. The car with the hardtop on it looks the best to me, (better than with the soft top up and even better than as a convertable). That being said, I haven't driven it with the hard top up since I had it delivered to me upon buying it. Live in Ohio, it only comes out on sunny, non road wet days, so I only have the hard top on it when it is garaged for the winter. Go for it.
 
As an Ohio guy I agree with @Powerplunge. GO BUCKEYES.

The attached color chart shows all the color combos of HT. If interested in originality a Black car could have been direct from the factory with the EB, or Performance white or Silver hardtops. There are many other tops that would look good with a black car. The best of all worlds as you can use it as just a convertible and if you absolutely need a HT buy it later. Any hard top from any year will fit all cars.

last time I check KBB, the Hardtop will bring an additional $500 with a private sale. Since the cost of the top on Ebay or other sites will probably be $750-$1000, a HT purchase probably isn't the soundest economic decision but if ya just have to have it-go for it.
