The driver's side window motor makes a "humming" noise like it's working, but the window doesn't go up or down without help.

I ordered a new motor with now gears, is there anything else it could be?

replace the motor - same problem i had with my 84 ( motor would work when it felt like it ) while in there make sure the track ( where window attaches ) isn't built up with old dried up grease
