Hey everyone. I just found out that the key is broken off in the trunk lock. How do I remove the lock?? There’s a retainer holding it in place and I can’t remove the retainer. Am I missing something. Not easy to see in there.

That retainer can be difficult to remove, but that is what is necessary. Slight tapping with a hammer may be needed, or a moderate whack when it finally irritates you.

Thanks 74 Harley. I’ll keep at it. I removed the latch but that doesn’t help. Is the hidden end of the retainer under the trunk lid metal? I can’t see the edges.

It looks like the wrong retainer. That one looks like a GM piece.
