1973 460 Brake Booster Alternatives

My brake booster has been progressively getting worse and is now so bad that I believe its vacuum leak is making it difficult for the engine to run. I'd like to replace the booster but as others have pointed out, it's incredibly difficult, if not impossible to find one. Is there an alternative brake booster, not specifically designed for a 73 Bird, that is compatible? I ordered a Cardone 54-74400 to try but I know the direct fit is a Cardone 54-73300 but impossible to find. Any input on this would be very much appreciated.

If I were you I would start looking at the commercial brake and clutch shops in your area. While they do specialize in larger trucks they rebuild these types of units. The internal parts are not that specific.
