1967 engine compartment paint recommendations

My Q-code 67 is getting rebuilt and while the engine is out I'd like to paint the engine compartment. Any suggestions on the finish for the black paint? Satin? Semigloss? Any other tips?

My original has a sheen that I would call between flat and semigloss. I realize it’s not much help. I can send a photo in a couple of days, when I’m back.
