Hey guys, I recently installed LED headlights into my 1966 and all four were working fine, but I lost power to the middle two. We tested the lamps themselves and they still work, but we don’t have 12V to the sockets anymore. We checked the fuse box assuming that the original fuse just wasn’t big enough, but all of the fuses are still intact. Are there any other fuses in the car or do you know of another cause for this issue? Thanks!

We’ve been turning on all four with the high beams. ?
This has been discussed before. The automotive LEDs are not the same as household LEDs. In theory they should draw less current but they draw more. You will have to trace back the whole wiring system and I'm sure you will find a fried circuit. That's why the restoration houses don't sell them only halogen lights. And in most states LED headlights are not even legal and very few are DOT compliant. For show use only not street legal.

I have previously had a high beam switch go bad and the high beams would not work. The switch is mounted on the floor and it usually gets wet in wet weather. I would check the switch and wiring at the the high beam switch. Hope you find your problem.

Dimmer switch on the floor is the most likely suspect.

Just seeing this. Believe it or not, I accidentally stepped on that switch on the floor the other day, and they came on. I’ve never owned a car with that switch there, so it never occurred to me! Feeling slightly dumb but I’m glad it’s simple like that. Thanks everybody!

Welcome to learning old technology. It is an ongoing quest.
