Good morning Everyone...

I just picked up a 66 and I'm woundering about something...its the cars color scheme...she has a black top with blue body paint...with a white interior...from what I've been told...is that scheme is unusual...is it? And also...I know that some came with the 428 and some with the 390...how do I exactly tell what engine it has...and if any of them were special order...meaning that it may say on the tage...that it's a 390...but it's actually the 428...any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you
Glenn

Look at the vin number to figure out what engine it came with. Z code is 390, Q is 428. Blue and white does not seem unusual to me at all . Vinyl roof is also common.

I do understand a vinyl roof is common...its just the color scheme I'm questioning...black roof..white interior...dosen't the roof match the interior? Like white with white...and let's say that the car was special ordered with the 428...is there a way to find that out? Because I know that sometimes the dealership would do that...

The dealer could change an engine, but that's not a "special order" . Look at your vin number. If I remember correctly it's the 5th digit. It will be a letter. That's the engine the car was ordered with. Z=390, Q=428. You can also post a picture of your vin. There's a warranty plate on the driver's door.
