I have a new to me 1966 with a 390, no AC and manual everything inside. Can anyone tell me where this is supposed to be connected to? Rubber hose is connected to the carb but this metal end is just floating in the breeze. Thanks for any help.

This is pointing towards the back of the engine. Just checked to be sure and my distributor has a hard line that’s connected up directly.

Probably goes to the transmission modulator valve.

I believe this to be the warm up line to the air cleaner. The rubber end up top should connect to a small nipple/port on the bottom of the air cleaner. The metallic tube should fit into a slip type tubing connection on the exhaust manifold. I believe I can see where it connects to the manifold in your first photo, right next to the insulated metallic tubing line that goes to your choke housing on the carb. Good luck, please let me know how you make out

This is the correct answer. I’m going to have to make or buy a new line. Thanks
