For my '65' T/B I moved the front seats back about 8"-10", actually I abandon the front holes on tth floor and used the factory rear holes for my mounting the front seat track holes. Question: Am I correct the captive nuts are
on the vertical sheet metal, I have new carpet with padding so I've lost the holes. My concern is whether the seat belt location is too far forward making the belts ineffective? Moving the belts back
the same distance as the seats would retain the same mounting position of the seats. How to mount the lower bracket will be the trick, any and all input would be appreciated.

I would say you have a legitimate concern, the lap belts are meant to go across the strong hip area of the pelvis and with an angle at the two mount points that ensures the human is restrained. If you sit in the seats with the belt secured and still feel those requirements are met, its prob as good as you can make it. That would require the floor mounting point of the belt to be well behind the occupant's hip IMO. You can find the original mounting points with a scratch awl probing through the new carpet carefully.

If you do remount your belts (you should), you will need to add some re-enforcement to the floor where you drill the new holes. (A small piece of plate at each hole) (or very large/thick fender washers).

Lap belts are dangerous at there best i put 3 point in my 60 just need to find a place high in the qtr sail Mt lap part to floor .

I'll remove the seats and find the factory nut on the wall of the rocker panel... if I'm not happy with the safety belt angle then I'll pull back the carpeting and install a nut plate, I'll use Cherry Rivets to attach the plate. When you change one thing there's always something else waiting you hadn't thought of.

I was hoping that someone had moved their seats, my biggest problem was getting my size 13 shoes in between the seat and door jamb.

Thanks B/C

When I moved the seats back I made these washers out of 3/16" steel...
