1965 front coil spring compessor

Has anyone used the OTC tools 7045B spring compressor on a 64-66? I have very bad squeaking in the front, the bushings on the control arm shaft are dried up and were never replaced. I see the tool says it has 4 inch plates, but I think? the inner diameter on the springs are 4 1/4 inches.
