Looking to replace my battery shortly. The manual states a 55Ah or 80Ah spec. Seems battery manufacturers now state battery spec at Rc or Reserve Capacity in place of Ah ( Amp Hour)
Given mine is a convertible with high Amp draw during the cycling of the soft top, any particular battery model to recommend?

Since it's a convertible, you don't need the highest Cold Cranking Amps, as you won't be driving it in the cold. From my understanding, the higher the CCA, the more fragile (short-lived) the battery is because the plates must be thinner inside. I have owned a large auto repair shop (and battery dealer) for over 40 years. This is a great question; it makes me wonder if the Deep Cycle makes more sense. I just put an Optima Yellow Top in my '65 T-Bird because I am running air pumps for my air bags, which probably have similar run times and amp draws to your convertible pumps. Buttt, $400 for a battery is a hard pill to swallow for a battery dealer.
