some of the spokes on my wire wheels click as it rolls and I feel a wobble. I’ve tried tightening the spokes that feel loose to the touch but that doesn’t seem to work, afraid to put too much muscle on it. Any suggestions would be appreciated, I can’t locate a specialist in central NJ.

Good titles get more responses. "1964 wire wheels" could mean just about anything. I'll update it to summarize your post.

You might try contacting an MG or Triumph club in your area as many of those came with wire wheels and see if they have any recommendations. Many of the specialty shops do most of their business by word of mouth and see no need to advertise for business and are hard to find on your own.

Look into the local motorcycle shops. Several will true spoke wheels. Years ago I paid $20. 00 for a spoke wheel that I had threaded new spokes to. It’s a common commodity on bikes.

I'd have that inspected before your drive the car very far. On the Vintage Thunderbird forum, there's a guy who discovered that spokes on his wire wheels were dis-attaching. The tip off was a wobbling front end.

And I thought keeping my full wheel covers on was a challenge. Got to move the wheel weights to the inside and then repaint where they used to be. They keep interfering with the fit.
