I am reassembling my repainted '64 but can't recall if these rear parking light housings mount on the face of the body (1st picture) or from the inside 2nd picture).
Lens and cover go on after.

Thanks guys.

They attach on the outside of the valance panel

Ok, that makes sense, I appreciate it, but what's the purpose of the corner screws I am pointing to here? They don't attach to anything, unless I'm missing some backing nuts

Yup the screw tabs as shown in one of the first pictures should be a clue that they mounts are attached on the outside. In the process I'd repaint the reflectors white or line with aluminum foil to brighten them.

Still struggling with this. Agree it mounts outside, but see attached image. Screw A passes thru the lens cover, the housing, and then threads into a slip nut mounted on the body. Screw B does nothing as far as I can see, and it's got that funny knurled section on it.

Anyone have any idea what the deal is with Screw B ?

Just the opposite. Screw 'B' is the proper screw to hold the fixture and also the Lense at the same time. . Screw 'A' Looks to be a Lense screw but not one to hold the fixture.

You are correct, I got that mixed up in my above explanation. Screw B does all the work. However that leaves Screw A doing nothing and note that on the housing the Screw A hole is threaded. Not sure why? That's where I need help. (Thanks in advance)

You should use 2 screw 'B's and screw 'A' is for another Lense someplace else where the fixture is attached otherwise. Tail light Lense?

Just for the record, those aren’t parking lights, they are your reverse lights.
