1964 Key switch wiring

I have no power to my key switch. When I look at a wiring diagram that I found online it
looks like the power to the switch comes from the alternator. Could this be right or am I
missing something in the wiring diagram. Any help is appreciated.

You probably have a burned-up ignition switch. This is a common problem. After you remove the switch, call up your auto parts store to see if they have it stock. If you are smart, buy two. Then you will have a spare for the next time it goes out.
 
You did not understand I have no power from the battery to the switch and am trying to find out
which wire at the switch is supposed to be hot when the key switch is off.
