Hi Everyone,

Almost finished up my 64 TBird, and ran into a huge problem. Not sure what happened,
but the rear window has something on it and will not clean off. I have tried normal window
cleaner and some Sumner 210 Cleaner, nothing touches it. You can actually feel it 🙁

Has anyone seen this before? Anything I can do or try? Really can't afford a new top at this time 🙁

I attached a couple of pic's the clear one is from before, the other are how it is now.

There are some plastic polishing compounds out there, but I am going to try a different approach. An old friend of mine used bug spray with Deets to remove the crazing from headlights. I would try the Deets on a paper towel and give a very small spot a try. Like lower corner if it doesn't work.
With all that you can also check with a local upholstery shop and see if they would just change the window. Your car looks beautiful!

Never use regular window cleaner on a plastic window. It usually has ammonia which destroys the plastic. Check West Marine as boats have a ton of plastic windows and may have something that will work. 74 Harley's idea of just replacing the window may be your result.

I had the same problem on my 66 convert. the only way to solve is either replace the rear window which a top and trim can order or a new top. I just got my 66 convert back today with a new top. the sun plays hard on plastic.
