1964 brake lights always stay on

For some reason the brake lights are staying on. key in off position, on position, and driving. recently replaced the stop light switch relay, master cylinder and stop light switch off M.C. unplugged the stop light switch and it still stays on. If I unplug the relay it does go off fyi. Any help is appreciated in tracking this down

Yes heading there next. Funny thing is that the old relay was a bit melted. I will be curious to see if my new one looks the same now. Pic of old one attached

well after purchasing a new brake light relay assembly from Ecklers, I believe the new relay was bad.
I wired another relay I just happen to have around and lights work just fine.
question some things bought from Ecklers...
