Can anyone tell me how to access the fuel sending unit on a 63 T Bird convertible. Is it necessary to drop the tank, or is it accessible through the trunk.
Thanks in advance.

@psquare please follow the posting directions moving forward. "63 convertible" is not a brief summary of your post.

To access the sending unit. take the trunk floor liner off, there is a black round inspection cover with 3 screws, take it off. there is the sending unit. take the wire that goes to the fuel gauge off, use a screwdriver and a hammer to rotate the locking ring counterclockwise, take the fuel hose off and pull the sending unit out after the lock ring is off. takes 5 minutes. easy job, an easy fix can buy a new sending unit for $40 or so on eBay. reverse directions to install don't forget a new o ring and make sure it doesn't move when yo put the new sender or old sender in.

You were 100% correct. Access is through the trunk. Easy fix. Waiting on the new sending unit. Thank you
