I am so far stumped at this issue. I have watched the front right wheel move forward about an inch when going from forward to reverse, and I have tried to duplicate the movement with a 6’ piece of lead pipe to no avail. Replaced the strut bushings on lower a-frame so it isn’t moving there. Seems to be on top but I can’t make it move at all that way. Car has had ball joints replaced so thinking they may not be the culprit but suppose the top joint may be moving. Were replaced maybe 20 years ago.

Check the stabilizer bar that runs forward. It may need new bushings. At this point it point it probably needs all the front end bushings replaced. Tonight I am working with a little Canadian....
