The trunk lid extension does not flip up there for the top will not go down. It worked fine until a car show last week ! what keeps that flap from going up. Everything else works ! Hope its just a switch or relay !

While repairing, consider modernizing your relays-

Check your switches for operation and adjustments of the extension and trunk. @biddle is right, spend the $ for an upgrade, but that may not be an end all to problems as I found out.

I would check for a sticky limit switch, I am planning on upgrading the relays once I start on my car.

Who is the best persons in Midwest to work on the Convertible top Mechanism. I want it to work perfect. I would like to also have the new style circuit board installed and remote top controller. I do know the fluid is low and I have a motor that quit working that extension flap up and down. The car isso nice that I want to get the top running perfect.

Where can I get a flip lid motor new or used or rebuilt. I unpluged it and wired it directly and motor is dead !

Look around your town for a shop that rebuilds starters and alternators. They will be able to take care of you.

First check to see if your flipper motor is not burned out or the connections aren't bad. Check the limit switch on the step before the flipper goes up. The trunk lid limit switch is on the hinge of the trunk lid, push the trunk lid back to force the limit switch. If that isn't it, the relay panel has 8 Relays, they go bad due to moisture. Jump that relay . I went with a new electronic relay. Rreally nice one easy to install and my top has been perfect ever since.

Motor first, connections, trunk lid limit switch, then relay jump and you should have your answer. There are only a few things that can happen for the flip lid. It is one of those 4 things. If you need a diagram of the relays , I can send you one. Push with your finger the limit switch on the flip motor and the top should respond and start to go up or down. This will tell you its within the flip lids motions that need the troubleshooting. If you need a new flip motor they selll a flip motor that is 5 times stronger then the original but a lil costly, but worth every penny. My flip lid fly's up.

The Motor is not working, It is bad. I would remove and take it apart myself but can't right now due to cancer treatmants. I am an electrician. But I will get someone to take it offf and either work on it myself or I will take it to the local Generator/Starter repair shop !

If you buy the new electronic relay, put it under the hood, run new wire to get it there. If not there are times when you wont be able to get at your back seat to get at your relays. Under the hood on one of the side ledges is the best. Easy access.Good luck. Stay strong, I just fought cancer and am doing well , strong mind, strong legs, fight back., Bless you Brother
