1962 convertible top micro switch problem/question?

Twice this happened to me when lowering the top. The top will operate normally going up until the back deck lid coming down. Power is lost with 10” left to go. I then must use the emergency deck lid up override to open the deck lid to get to the micro switches. I then press a red reset button and the top will start operating again. Why is it tripping that micro switch? Dave
