Hello Folks,
I'm replacing the carpet on my 1962 Convertible. It appears that the carpet had been replaced once before, as all of the original sound deadener material is gone, and in its place is this insulating material (see picture).
It is about 1/2" thick and much more lightweight than the original factory sound deadener material. Can anyone with more experience tell me if this is a legitimate replacement for the factory sound deadener? It appears to be in good condition, so I'd just as soon re-use it but I figure now is the time if it needs to be replaced.
All observations and opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
